Fredy, Editor of GoldenCoral.org
Fredy is the editor and publisher of GoldenCoral.org. He writes or reviews every price, hours and menu page on this site before it is published. GoldenCoral.org is independent and is not affiliated with Golden Corral Corporation.
I run GoldenCoral.org because Golden Corral publishes no prices anywhere. There is no national price list on the company website, no per-location pricing, nothing. Every restaurant is franchised and sets its own numbers, which means the only honest way to answer “how much is Golden Corral” is to go and find out, one restaurant at a time. That is what I have been doing since 2023.
What I actually do
Every month I work through a list of Golden Corral locations and call them. I ask the same four questions each time: what is the adult price for each meal, what is the senior price, what do children pay in each age band, and is a drink included. I write down the city, the date and the answer.
That is the entire method. It is not sophisticated, but it is the reason the figures on this site are ranges rather than a single invented national number, and it is why I can tell you that most Golden Corral locations do not serve breakfast on a weekday. That was not something I read somewhere. It came out of calling restaurants and being told they do not open until 10:30 AM.
What I got wrong, and fixed
This site published incorrect prices for a long stretch of 2026. Adult lunch was listed $4 to $6 above what restaurants were actually charging, senior breakfast was shown costing more than adult breakfast, which is not a thing that happens anywhere, and the breakfast hours said 7:30 AM daily when most stores are shut until 10:30 AM Monday to Thursday.
All of that was corrected on 29 July 2026, and the pages now carry a visible verified date so you can see how current the figures are. I would rather say that plainly than quietly change the numbers, because a price guide that will not admit an error is not worth reading.
How to check my work
- Every price page carries a verified date at the top and a next-review date. If the verified date is more than a month old, treat the figures as indicative and call your store.
- Every figure is a range. If you see a single exact national price for Golden Corral anywhere on the internet, it is a guess. Metro locations run $2 to $3 above rural ones for exactly the same buffet.
- I tell you when I am uncertain. Kids-eat-free nights, senior ID policies and holiday hours vary so much by franchisee that the honest answer is often “call and ask”, and I say so rather than filling the gap.
- Corrections get published. If you tell me your restaurant charges something different, I will check it and change the range.
Editorial process
GoldenCoral.org is a one-person editorial operation. I write or review every price, hours and menu page on this site before it goes live, and my name is on them because I am the person accountable for the numbers. Nothing here is auto-generated from a feed or republished from another price site.
- Sourcing. Prices and hours come from calls to individual restaurants, logged with the city and the date, and are cross-checked against the location data Golden Corral publishes itself. Where the two disagree, the restaurant wins and I say so on the page.
- Review cycle. Price and hours pages are re-checked on a monthly cycle. Each one carries a visible verified date and a next-review date so you can judge how current it is without taking my word for it.
- Corrections. Reader reports that include a city, a date and a price get checked against the restaurant directly. If the range is wrong it is changed, and significant corrections are stated openly rather than edited in silently – see the section above on what this site got wrong in 2026.
- Uncertainty. Where franchise policy varies too much to state a national answer, such as kids-eat-free nights, senior ID checks and holiday opening, the page says “call and ask” instead of guessing.
- Independence. Advertising and affiliate partners have no input into prices, hours, ratings or recommendations, and no content on this site is paid for or reviewed by Golden Corral Corporation or any franchisee.
Where the money comes from
GoldenCoral.org is funded by advertising and, where relevant, affiliate links. Golden Corral does not pay me, no franchisee pays me, and no advertiser has any say over what I publish about prices, hours or food. When I think a deal is not worth taking, I say so.
Get in touch
The most useful message you can send me is a real price from a real visit. Give me the city and state, the day of the week, which meal, what the adult ticket cost and the date you were there. Something like “Ocala, Florida, Saturday dinner, $18.99 adult, 12 July 2026” is worth more than anything else, because it is a receipt rather than an estimate.
